DUBLIN-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Research and Markets (http:/www.researchandmarkets.com/research/31e56f/oral_care_in_usa) has announced the addition of the "Oral Care in USA" report to their offering. Value sales in the US oral care sector declined slightly in 2009, by just under 1%. Due to the economic downturn, consumers became more value-conscious when making purchases. However, sales of value-added products, such as power toothbrushes and battery toothbrushes, saw an increase in 2009, as consumers continued to purchase products that simplified their oral hygiene routine, despite their typically higher unit prices. Americans continue to be concerned about the aesthetics of their teeth and. Synopsis An approach is described to increase the deposition efficiency of silicone conditioning actives from a shampoo on colour-treated hair via liquid crystal (LC) colloidal structures, created with a high charge density cationic polymer, poly(diallyldimethyl ammonium chloride) and negatively charged surfactants. LCs are materials existing structurally between the solid crystalline and liquid phases, and several techniques, including polarized light microscopy, small angle X-Ray analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry, were used to confirm the presence of the LC structures in the shampoo formula. Silicone deposition from the LC-containing shampoo and a control shampoo was (…)text/htmlhttp://www.businesswire.comBusiness Wire18.06.2010 | Business Wire: Research and Markets: Feminine Care in the US to 2014 | Business Wire

Global analysis of gene expression in target cells or tissues in response to a toxicant holds significant promise for predictive toxicology. Toxicants elicit a characteristic pattern of gene expression that is dependent on mechanism of action. These mechanism-specific transcript profiles can be used as the basis for predictive toxicology. Potential applications include prioritizing chemicals for testing and customizing testing approaches based on the chemical. Results that are useful in this predictive context can be obtained from animal or in vitro models. In typical in-market products the oxidant used to achieve these changes is hydrogen peroxide buffered at pH 10 with an alkalizer such as ammonium hydroxide. A new oxidant has been developed based on the combination of ammonium carbonate, hydrogen peroxide and glycine at pH 9 that can match the lightening and color performance of the current oxidant. It has the advantage that both the carbonate and hydrogen peroxide concentrations can be changed to alter the lightening performance making it a more flexible oxidant.
